| The Ancient Tree Hunt | www.ancient-tree-hunt.org.uk | Can you help Coed Cadw / The Woodland Trust create a living map of ancient trees in Wales? In 2007 we are planning to launch our Ancient Tree Hunt project. Full details of the project can be found at the website www.ancient-tree-hunt.org.uk but in short the Ancient Tree Hunt aims to work in partnership with other organisations to encourage people to recognise and identify ancient trees in their locality and then record some key information about each tree. The data will be entered online, and it will be possible to query and view the information across the whole of the UK. This project is an important way of reconnecting people with nature, and encouraging them to help protect Ancient Trees. It is a five year UK-wide partnership between the Woodland Trust, the Ancient Tree Forum and the Tree Register of the British Isles, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. |
