Coed Felinrhyd is an ancient semi-natural woodland listed as a special area of conservation (SAC), plantation on ancient woodland site (PAWS) and a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).

Managed by: National Trust
OS Landranger Sheet Number: 124, Dollgellau
National Grid Reference: SH 727 233

Dolmelynllyn Description: Dolmelynllyn is quite a large woodland that reaches high above the village of Ganllwyd and the A470. This site hosts excellent examples of mature oak, with waymarked trails leading you around the mature oak stand.

The Dolmelynllyn Estate near Dolgellau contains one of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, Rhaeadr Ddu, which can be reached by footpath from Ganllwyd, as well as sheepwalks on Y Llethr, the highest peak in the Rhinog Mountains. This whole area is full of wildlife interest and is particularly noted for its late summer and autumn colours.

The Maentwrog block Along both sides of the Dwyryd, the valley slopes host some of the best examples of upland oakwood within the project (in my humble opinion). Most of the project partners manage sites within this area, and there is plenty of opportunity to walk the length of the valley top, taking in the breath-taking views of the Afon Dwyryd heading out to sea.

the following are some of the sites that make up the Maentwrog block:
